Acronis alternative for MSPs: keep data in your client’s bucket
Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud is a suite: backup, disaster recovery, security and RMM, with included storage and quote-only pricing.
Arkame only backs up server files, with a published per-server price, and the data sits in your client’s bucket.
If you want one contract for everything, Acronis fits better. If you want the data out of your hands and the price on the table, look at Arkame.

When to choose Acronis
For many MSPs, Acronis is the right choice. Choose Acronis if:
- You want one contract for backup, disaster recovery, security and RMM. Arkame only does file backup.
- You prefer included storage, without asking the client to open an account with a provider.
- You protect VMs and workstations in the same package. Arkame does not back up VMs.
- You need disk images, bare metal or consistent database backups without a dump. Arkame does none of that.
- You accept a minimum commitment and quote-only pricing in exchange for a bigger suite.
When to choose Arkame
Arkame makes sense when your service is backing up the files on your clients’ servers:
- You want a published per-server price, so you can build the proposal without a quote.
- You want the client’s data in a bucket they own. If you leave, they keep the files; if they leave, you are not holding anyone’s data.
- The client pays for storage directly to the provider they choose, and you do not resell gigabytes.
- You want Object Lock in Compliance mode on the client’s bucket, with the panel warning you if someone turns versioning off.
- You want to resell under your own brand, or refer and earn 20%, with published rules.
How to start with one client
Start with one client and one server, alongside what you already have.
Ask the client to create a bucket with versioning and Object Lock in their account. The storage guide has the steps.
Install the agent on the server and create a plan with the folders that matter.
Click "Run now" and restore a test file with the client watching.
Keep the current contract while you may need to restore old history. Only then decide what changes.
FAQ
How much is Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud?
Acronis’s pricing page does not publish amounts: it offers a calculator and contact with a cloud advisor. That is why we write "quote only".
Does Arkame include storage?
No. Backups go to the client’s bucket (AWS S3, Backblaze B2, Wasabi and others), paid directly to the provider. The storage comparison helps you choose.
Does Arkame have antivirus or RMM?
No. Arkame backs up server files, and only that.
How does reselling work?
You can refer clients and earn 20% of what they pay, or resell under your own brand in the panel. The rules are on the partners page.
Try it on your server
14 days free, no card. Backups go to your bucket, with your keys.
