What you need to present Arkame to a client: a page to print or save as PDF, and a 10-minute demo script with answers to the objections that always come up.

Only the page below prints, on a single sheet. For a PDF, pick “Save as PDF” in the print dialog.

To compare storage providers in front of a client, use the Compare storage page.

Backup that turns back time, in your company’s own bucket

Arkame copies your servers’ files to storage your company owns, and brings back any file exactly as it was on the date you pick.

What takes a business down

  • Ransomware

It encrypts the server and, if it can reach them, the backup copies too.

  • Human error

Someone deletes or overwrites the wrong folder, and nobody notices for weeks.

  • Disk failure

A disk dies without warning. RAID covers one failed disk, not a deleted or encrypted file.

How it works

  1. A lightweight agent on the server (Linux, Windows or macOS) backs up on the plan’s schedule: the first run is full, the next ones send only what changed.

  2. Files go straight from the server to your company’s bucket (Backblaze B2, Wasabi, AWS S3 and other compatible providers). The bucket key stays on the server.

  3. The panel keeps only the index (file names, sizes and dates), never the contents.

Object Lock: the copy ransomware can’t delete

With Object Lock and a default retention in Compliance mode on the bucket, no version can be deleted or overwritten before the period you chose, not even by someone who steals the server’s key: the provider itself refuses.

Restore by date, in the browser

Search for a file by name, browse the folders or pick a point on the timeline, the moment before the problem, and restore to the original server or another one.

Price

US$ 5 per server, per month

Arkame’s list price. Your company pays for storage directly to the bucket provider. If you buy through a partner, their price applies.

10-minute demo script

Six steps, in the order the panel asks for them. Step 5 is what sells: a file deleted on purpose coming back exactly as it was.

Before the demo (not part of the 10 minutes)

  • An Arkame account and a Linux test server with Docker.
  • A Backblaze B2 or Wasabi bucket created with versioning and Object Lock, a default retention in Compliance mode (30 days, for example) and a key for that bucket only. The storage guide goes from a new account to the key.
  • A folder with a sample file on the server:
    sudo mkdir -p /srv/demo && echo "signed contract" | sudo tee /srv/demo/contrato.txt
  1. Add the bucket

    1 min

In Storages → Add storage, pick the provider and enter the bucket, region and endpoint. Point out to the client that the panel doesn’t ask for the bucket key: it only goes to the server.

  2. Install the agent with one Docker command

    2 min

In Agents → New agent, give it a name and pick the bucket. The panel builds the Docker command with an install code that lasts 24 hours and works once; paste it into the server’s terminal. The installer asks for the bucket key, tests it and registers the agent. In the panel, check the fingerprint and approve. The full command is in the Docs. To show the agent running:

sudo docker logs --tail 20 arkame-agent
  3. Create the plan and run the first backup

    2 min

In Plans → New plan, pick the server, the /srv/demo folder, the storage and a daily schedule. Save, click Run now and follow it in History. In Storages, open the Retention policy: Smart Storage keeps versions in GFS tiers (daily, weekly, monthly). With Object Lock, Arkame deletes nothing before the bucket’s retention period ends.

  4. Delete a file “by mistake”

    1 min

Once the backup is done, in the server’s terminal:

    sudo rm /srv/demo/contrato.txt
  5. Restore from the timeline

    3 min

In Restore → Timeline, pick the backup from before the deletion, select contrato.txt and restore it to the same server, in its original location. Follow it in History and check in the terminal:

    cat /srv/demo/contrato.txt
  6. Show the panel with your brand

    1 min

In the partner area, the Brand screen previews the panel with your name, logo and color: the panel your clients will open.

The five objections that always come up

“I already back up to an external drive.”

A copy the server can reach gets encrypted along with it, and a drive in a drawer depends on someone remembering. Here the backup runs on its own, leaves the building and, with Object Lock, stays locked at the provider for the period you chose. If a backup fails or the server goes silent, an email alert goes out.

“Will you see my files?”

No. Files go from the server straight to your company’s bucket, with a key that stays on the server. The panel gets the index (names, sizes and dates), never the contents.

“What if Arkame shuts down, or I cancel?”

The bucket and the files belong to your company and stay there: versions can be downloaded straight from the provider, without Arkame. If you cancel, the service keeps running until the end of the paid period. And the agent is open source, under the Apache 2.0 license.

“What does it really cost?”

US$ 5 per server per month to Arkame, plus storage, paid directly to the bucket provider. The Compare storage page shows what each provider charges for the client’s volume.

“Does it back up the database? The whole machine?”

It’s file backup. For Postgres, MySQL or MongoDB, the dump (pg_dump, mysqldump, mongodump) is generated first and protected as a file: copying a live database doesn’t restore. Disk images and whole virtual machines aren’t covered. If the client needs that, another tool does it better, and it’s worth saying so.
